Mr. Swan lived in a pond in Charlottesville, VA behind the hotel where I say when I travel there for medical treatment at UVA each year. He lived there for several years. He did have a mate, but a fox got her. They put another female in the pond with him and he rejected her, so he now lives alone. I finally got that perfect photo so I could paint him. In 2021 the caretaker of the pond and Mr. Swan found him. He died. No one knows the cause. I probably have the only painting of him.
